What’s New for Mazda in 2021
Mazdas Now Boast More Turbo Power, Active Safety & Special Editions
After the whirlwind that was 2020, it’s only all-too-perfect timing that Mazda should give its vehicles a facelift for the new year. Below is a breakdown of all that the 2021 Mazda models have to offer:
Mazda CX-3: The 2021 Mazda CX-3 added nighttime pedestrian detection to the automatic emergency braking system.
Mazda CX-30: The 2021 Mazda CX-30 debuted with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard features on the entry-level CX-30. The CX-30 Preferred trim level adds a power moonroof, and the Premium model gets navigation. Bose premium audio and satellite radio functionality are now exclusive to the Premium trim.
Mazda CX-5: The 2021 Mazda CX-5 showcases the most amount of change for the new year. It now offers a new 10.3-inch infotainment screen that’s standard on all models. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also available on standard vehicles. All models add Mazda Connected Services app functionality with remote start. For the CX-5 Signature model, Mazda has added driver attention alert and rear automatic braking, plus an updated 360-degree camera system. There’s also a new Carbon Edition based on the CX-5 Touring’s Preferred package. It adds unique exterior paint, red upholstery, 19-inch black wheels, and black styling accents.
Mazda CX-9: The 2021 Mazda CX-9 includes a new standard 10.3-inch infotainment display, standard remote start via smartphone, and updated driver-assist tech for the top-level Signature trim. The CX-9 Signature also sees a new 20-inch wheel design, new front grille, larger exhaust pipes, and updated interior materials. Like the CX-5, there’s also a CX-9 Carbon Edition if you’re looking for a more bold appeal.
2021 Mazda MX-5 Miata: While there are no new changes to the Miata, it is, however, time to celebrate the Miata’s 100th birthday with a special edition. After all, you only celebrate your 100th birthday once, right?
2021 Mazda3: The 2021 Mazda3’s most significant updates for the year live under the hood. Not only is there a new entry-level 2.0-liter option, but Mazda is also finally offering its compact sedan/hatch with turbocharged power. All models now include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility as standard, along with remote start via app. Turbocharged examples include turbo badging, black 18-inch wheels, and larger tailpipes.
2021 Mazda6: The 2021 Mazda6 now offers an attractive Carbon Edition like the CX-5 and CX-9 and is extending standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to the base model and driver attention alert plus rear emergency braking for the Mazda6 Signature. Wireless CarPlay is now available on Grand Touring trims and above.
